CASEY CLOUD

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, now living in Carpinteria I have been surfing and fishing local waters for over 40 years.  Working outside and helping fly fishers develop their skills means I get to do what I love for a living.  Our local waters offer a diversity of fly fishing opportunities.

Surf options include targeting surf perch, halibut, leopard shark and the ultimate game of sight fishing for corbina. Surf fishing is available year-round. Corbina fishing is available March-November, with June-October being prime for sight fishing.

Freshwater options include walk and wade fishing on the Santa Ynez River when flows allow. Fly anglers target both large and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, crappie, bluegill, carp and more at Cachuma Lake.  I focus on what is fishing best at that particular time. With terrific weather year-round I am on the water around 300 days a year.

A background in coaching and private instruction has served me well as an instructional guide who is serious about helping people develop their personal angling skills. With a variety of fresh and saltwater fly fishing options there is always something to fish for. Good casting ability is a plus as most local fly fishing requires the ability to cast 40-60’ comfortably.  Public access, walk and wade options, and a 17' bass boat permitted for Cachuma Lake create the opportunity to fish a diversity of water types, close to home and far less pressured than well-known fly fishing destinations.

Beginners to advanced fly anglers are welcome.

Cloudfly fishing is there to help on your journey to becoming a better fly angler.
