Cachuma Lake
Year - round (Prime time is March-June and Oct-Nov)
Fly fish for Largemouth and Smallmouth bass, crappie, rainbow trout, bluegill, carp and more.
Cachuma Lake is a short 30 minute drive from Santa Barbara and offers fantastic wildlife viewing, unspoiled landscapes, camping and excellent fly fishing opportunities during prime times. Spring and Fall tend to be best, but there is always the possibility of good action year round. We fish Cachuma from a 17’ bass boat that handles 2 anglers comfortably, and with “spot-lock” technology we can always keep the boat in position to make good presentations. A variety of techniques can work here at any given time, so we keep 4-6 rods rigged and ready for everything from topwater to float n fly. A day on the water at Cachuma is a day immersed in nature, wildlife and the beautiful landscape of the Santa Ynez valley. It is apart from the hustle and bustle of So Cal and a great way to connect with nature and fly fish without the long drive.

Corbina
April - October (May-Sept is prime)
Target the elusive Southern California Corbina in the surf. This is sight fishing in the surf and a true challenge for any level of fly fisher. This is hunting as much as it is fishing. It is the foundation of the guide service, and what we do best. Living 30 seconds from the beach means having a finger on the pulse and being on the best fishing windows. A 1/2 day targeting Corbina can be an education for even the most accomplished angler. Little things make a big difference here, and that’s where we come in. A lifetime of experience in the surf and thousands of hours dedicated to pursuing Corbina brings next level understanding to the game. That knowledge, and the ability to pass those lessons on to anglers of all skill levels is what it’s all about. Tactics and equipment for this unique type of fly fishing have been dialed in over the years, and our goal is to leave you with the knowledge and tools for future success. Walk and stalk type fishing on the beach…no waders necessary. Just good sunglasses, the ability to cast 50ft, and the right attitude. We’ll take care of the rest.
